Apple Valley, Minn. – United Educators Credit Union connected with Eastview High School to educate children on the importance of financial literacy during National Credit Union's Youth Week. UECU conducted presentations to three groups of junior and senior classes. The topics included credit and using it wisely. This is timely information as many of these students graduate this spring, and will need to understand the basics of money management. Additionally, UECU staff representatives were invited to serve as facilitators at the District 196 Marketing Roundtable. This event draws over 200 marketing juniors and seniors who are interested in understanding more about the working world and how to earn a living.

"United Educators Credit Union is committed to preparing youth to be financially responsible," said Phil Gallant, Apple Valley Branch Supervisor. "The credit union's efforts would not be possible without the commitment of Eastview High School and the teachers that go above and beyond."

UECU's partnership with Eastview High School was established in 2011. Activities include volunteering and class room speakers on sound money management, credit, and other financial literacy topics.

United Educators was established in 1957 to meet the financial needs of school staff members and their families throughout Minnesota, and is the only statewide credit union exclusively serving the education community. United Educators Credit Union offers a full line of financial services, and currently operates branch locations in Apple Valley, Coon Rapids, Eden Prairie and Woodbury.
