PROTECT YOURSELF AND THE EARTH BY SHREDDING DOCUMENTS AT UNITED EDUCATORS CREDIT UNION'S FREE SHRED EVENT

Apple Valley, Minn. – In an effort to promote environmental awareness and identity theft protection, United Educators Credit Union will host a free document Shred Day at their Apple Valley Branch at 14989 Florence Trail on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Members of the Apple Valley community are invited to drop off up to 2 boxes for shredding.

"UECU is committed to both recycling and protecting consumers from identity theft, so we have partnered with Shred-It to have a truck on site to securely shred documents on the spot," said Natalia Brown, Branch Supervisor. Credit union members and the Apple Valley community are encouraged to bring unwanted personal documents, such as old account statements, cancelled checks, ATM receipts, unwanted credit card offers, and anything with personal information listed.

United Educators Credit Union was established in 1957 and is a member-owned, member-operated, not-for-profit financial institution, providing financial services to the Minnesota education community, their families, and those who support education by being a part of the United Educators Foundation. United Educators Credit Union offers a full line of financial services, and currently operates branch locations in Apple Valley, Coon Rapids, Eden Prairie and Woodbury. In March 2012, BAUERFINANCIAL Inc. Third Party Website, awarded the United Educators Credit Union its five-star "SUPERIOR" rating for its 81st consecutive period, designating it as one of the safest credit unions in the United States. The prestigious Sustained Superiority Status is earned by fewer than 10% of the nation's credit unions.
