Going to College or Back to School
All done with high school and ready for life on your own? In the next few years your Student account will transition to an adult account, you'll be faced with decisions about car loans, first jobs, credit cards, school, and more! Moving or Relocating
Packing up and moving is a large event in your life and can be a smooth transition or a huge stressor. Planning ahead and doing a little research will put you ahead of the game. Remember that while you're canceling your phone, cable, gas, electric, and other utilities, you don't have to cancel your credit union membership. Allow our staff and services help make your move easier!
Divorce
With all the stress that comes with a divorce, it is hard to take time to evaluate your finances clearly. We're here to help. Let a credit union representative sit down with you to go through where you stand financially and help you through this difficult time.
Marriage
Taking the plunge is a big step, but if you consider the financial consequences and make some important decisions before tying the knot, you'll be way ahead of the ball game! Decide if you're going to pool your assets or maintain separate checking or savings accounts. If you have a credit card issued by UECU, notify us of your name change. Also, update beneficiaries on your savings accounts, IRAs (individual retirement accounts), and other investments.
Having Kids & Raising a Family
Having children and starting a family means opportunities for youth accounts, teaching your children the importance of saving, and preparing them to become smart adult spenders. Look to your credit union for tools for financial education and resources for raising happy, healthy kids – from birth through graduation!
